Dupe Diaries: Target Easter Edition!
Baccarat Bunnies, Brunschwig & Lee Jofa Pillows, and Majolica Galore!
It has been a really long time, at least in my mind, since I formally did one of these, so here we go. Let’s do a little Dupe Diaries to get us going into March.
Because if there is one thing I love, it is finding something that gives you the look and feel of the original without the eye-watering price tag. Not everything needs to be the “real deal,” and sometimes the dupe is honestly just as good… or at least good enough.
I spend a lot of time sourcing for clients and for my own home, and along the way I inevitably stumble across things that feel eerily similar to pieces that cost five or ten times as much. Some are nearly identical, some simply capture the spirit of the original, but all of them are things I would actually buy myself.
So here are a few recent ones that caught my eye while leisurely perusing the Target website.
Majolica Dupes
Shop the Dupe (ONLY $5 FOR A DINNER PLATE!)
Shop the OG ($156 for a Set of 4)
Target really hit a home run with these and across their entire site they currently have a wonderful selection of majolica-style pieces in pink and white.
Of course they are great for Easter, but honestly they are also great year-round. And starting at around $5, you really cannot go wrong.
And if you are inclined to splurge for the OG, William Sonoma has sets of 4 or 8. A set of 4 retails for $156. Honestly, I see the appeal of these as I own them and use them often, however you cannot go wrong either way!
Splatterware Dupes
Shop the Dupe (Mugs are only $5!)
Shop the OG
Okay so splatterware can get really expensive. Marbelized ceramics even more so.
So when I find either I always take note.
I am currently not allowed to buy any more mugs or dinnerware (yawn) because we are registering and already have far too many pieces, but for $5 these are about one-seventh the price of many of the originals. See the OG (or one of the many OGs rather!) by Tory Burch. A set of 4 retails for $110 and you cannot even really tell the difference.
And yes, the splatterware from Target comes in plates also. Another perfect addition to your home or Easter table.
With these, due to the motif, you are never really going to find the exact OG however the spirit is very much there!
Baccarat Bunny Dupes
Shop the Dupe (Sadly the pink sold out!)
Shop the OG
So there was a period of time where I unintentionally began collecting the Baccarat butterflies. One was given to me as a gift, then another appeared, and before I knew it I had a little collection.
Unfortunately the box broke during a move and three of the butterflies broke, which was heartbreaking.
These acrylic bunnies remind me of the Baccarat animals, but they are actually even more practical because they are acrylic. Which means they are perfect for a nursery bookshelf, a tablescape, or simply a small little objet around the house.
We recently stayed with a close family friend who had Herend bunnies that she had inherited from her mother. She had originally given them to her in blue or pink to announce her pregnancies.
Upon her passing they came back to her, and I cannot think of a sweeter tradition.
I personally am not a fan of large gender reveals and will certainly never be doing one myself, but a small symbolic gift like that feels incredibly charming.
‘Custom’ Contrast Micro-Flange Chintz Pillows
Okay so it is hard to dupe something that technically does not exist, but I absolutely love a custom pillow with a contrast mini-flange.
There is a workroom I follow and have used, Julie Thome, who quite literally produces some of the most beautiful work I have ever seen. She did a micro flange quite a long time ago and I have not been able to unsee it since.
The fabric is beautiful and it also comes in a tablecloth ($22!), table runner ($18!) and napkins ($8 for a set of 2!), which are perfect for your Easter table OR as a hostess gift/in an adult Easter basket (and yes, adults deserve Easter baskets also!).
These pillows would be lovely in a bedroom, ladies’ sitting room, nursery, girls’ room, really anywhere.
And please do not let your husband overrule you and say no florals.
Real men should allow florals.
Carolina Irving-Inspired Bunny Plates
Okay so Carolina Irving does not make bunny plates.
But if she did… they would probably look like this.
I absolutely adore her plates and regularly stalk them on Over the Moon, and I am seriously contemplating adding some to our registry (see them below! notice how the motif along the sides is eerily similar!).
These are incredibly fun and feel very much like something the Carolina Irving team would design.
So there you have it, my Dupe Diaries Target Easter edition!
I am constantly saving things like this while sourcing for clients or wandering around stores, so I may start doing Dupe Diaries more regularly.
If you have come across any particularly good dupes lately, send them my way. Nothing delights me more than discovering something that looks wildly expensive but secretly costs $14.99.
And if you end up ordering any of these, report back. I am always curious what holds up in real life.
I am SO glad to finally have broken my On the Fringe hiatus and will be back soon with some ramblings about all things bridal, feel inadequate (always), more dupes, my February favorites I am bringing into March, etc. So subscribe if you feel so inclined and if not, all good either way.
With Much Gratitude As Always,
