So, My Newest Homeworthy Dropped…
And naturally, I’m getting roasted mercilessly for saying Miele instead of Bosch.
Yes, this is my third Homeworthy. Shameless? Absolutely. But what’s the point of creating a home you adore if you’re not going to enjoy it and share it? It’s like the interior designer equivalent of celebrities calling the paparazzi on themselves (didn’t Heather Dubrow have a storyline about this on Real Housewives recently? I digress…).
Anyway, my newest Homeworthy video of my DUMBO apartment (Brooklyn!) went live Wednesday evening—and surprise, I had no clue it was happening. Normally, these launches are coordinated with social media posts, press mentions, and yes, even Substack entries like this one. But this time, it was an unplanned, happy accident.

Watching it back was fun (and a little cringe, as always), but reading the comments? Well, that’s always an adventure. The internet was quick to point out that I misspoke about my dishwasher. It’s a Bosch, not a Miele. The irony, of course, is that I literally said in the video that I don’t even use my kitchen. Yet here we are, debating dishwashers—and one commenter got 64 likes for calling me out (any counting!). I have to admit, I laughed.
Then there were the comments about me being a name-dropper. Let me clarify something: the reason I name specific brands, spell things out, and tag so meticulously is because I would want to know. As a designer and a consumer, I hate gatekeeping. I wrote in my Ins and Outs of 2025 that gatekeeping is officially OUT, and I mean it.
Yes, when it comes to client projects, I keep sources sacred—they’re paying me to create something truly unique and magical. But when it’s my own space? I don’t care! I have zero ego about it. If someone recreated my entire Dumbo apartment, down to the last detail, I’d honestly be flattered. And to those who are calling me a name-dropper: if you actually know me, you know I’m anything but.
The truth is, I share my resources because I genuinely want people to have beautiful homes. That was my goal with my first Homeworthy (and each subsequent episode), with this Substack, and with everything I put out into the world. And yes, I’m aware that according to some past Homeworthy commenters, my home is "absolutely atrocious." Beauty is subjective, my friends.
To those of you who enjoyed the episode, thank you. To those of you who didn’t, that’s okay—no hard feelings. And for the ones who want to shop my look? I’ve got you covered. Links galore can be found here!
And if you wish I’d just stop sharing altogether, well… sorry, but I love doing this way too much.
xx,
With Gratitude,
Hollis Loudon
