What to Immediately Toss in 2025
When I first started dating my boyfriend, I did one thing right away—I threw out his bed pillows. One day, while he was at work, I tackled a laundry list of to-dos, and when he got home and asked about my day, I casually added, “Oh, and I threw away all of your pillows.” His eyes widened in shock, and I couldn’t help but burst out laughing. “What? They were gross,” I said. And honestly? They were. No offense to him, but this is something everyone should consider doing immediately as we kick off 2025.
Sleep hygiene is having a moment right now, especially with all the “New Year, New Me” energy in the air. And let’s face it—your bedding and bedroom environment directly affect the quality of your sleep. Sure, upgrading your lighting to help you wind down at night, investing in better blinds, or getting the perfect alarm clock are all worthwhile moves, but let’s start with the easiest (and cheapest) fix: pillows.
Pillows are one of those things we grow oddly attached to and never think to replace. When I told my sister about my pillow purge, she laughed so hard she cried.
